Chris Meriam is a certified mental health counselor and maintains a private practice in Seattle, Washington with individuals and couples.

He began his career in mental heath in the late 1960s, working in a crisis counseling center in Michigan.
In 1973 he moved to Washington and joined Greater Lakes Mental Health Center as a member of the outpatient treatment staff and head of adult education. During that period, he co-authored a self-help book entitled Feeling Good about Feelings. He completed a three-year intensive training program in psychosynthesis in 1978, at Highpoint Northwest.

He is the founder and director of Psychosynthesis of Puget Sound, and teaches psychosynthesis to other helping professionals on an annual basis.
